Dear Parents, Teachers, Students, and Members of the Godwin High School Community,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! My name is Michelle Shuster, and I’m excited to serve as this year’s president of the Godwin PTSO.
The PTSO exists to support the education and welfare of Godwin students by fostering strong relationships between parents, teachers, students, and administration. We put that mission into action in many of ways, including:
- Capital purchases and support for the school — new water fountains, Godwin flags on light poles in the parking lots, the cafeteria sound system, a new golf cart, and advocacy for new gym bleachers
- Programs such as Getting to Know Godwin and other programs focused on student well-being
- College scholarships for six deserving seniors
- The Educator of the Year award for one outstanding faculty member
- Several appreciation events for faculty and staff throughout the year
Our work is funded through two main sources: donations to the Eagle Fund and PTSO memberships, and spirit wear sales through The Cave.
Recent PTSO contributions and this year’s wish list
Last year, the 2025–2026 PTSO:
- Bought a second golf cart for use by school security officers
- Helped bring about the installation of a hybrid traffic beacon to protect students crossing Pump Rd.
- Purchased new furniture for the library
This year, the 2026–2027 wish list includes:
- Repairing or replacing the auditorium curtain
- Improvements to The Cave
- Other priorities to be determined by school administration and the PTSO board
We can’t do this without you! Here’s how to get involved:
- Join the PTSO or contribute to the Eagle Fund
- Volunteer for a board or committee position — we have committees covering programs, membership, and more
- Shop spirit wear through The Cave
You can do all three right here on the website, including payment by credit card. We’d also love to see you in person — our first general membership meeting of the year is at Back to School Night on September 10. It’s a great, easy way to meet the board and learn more.
Please explore the site and consider how you might contribute, whether that’s time, involvement, or a donation. Every bit is invested wisely and deeply appreciated.
Your input matters to us. If you have ideas for what you’d like to see from your PTSO, please reach out to me at president@godwinptso.com.
Thank you for getting involved in your student’s education. Go Eagles!
Sincerely,
Michelle Shuster, PTSO President
